My name is Lindsay Scheidell and I’m the State Communication Director for the American Heart Association in Wisconsin. The American Heart Association in Wisconsin mission is to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke nationwide. We focus on that mission statewide here in Wisconsin the mid west affiliate, which is one of six affiliates nationwide. I graduated University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 2004 with a degree in communications and an emphasis in public relations. I was very involved in the Public Relations Student Society of America while I was a student at Whitewater. I also was a part of the Homecoming Steering committee each year and had a lot of fun with that. I did some things with American Marketing Association, but I really found most benefit from being involved with PRSSA while I was a student.

I really enjoyed hearing about all of her different experiences and how they led her to where she is at now. I found it interesting that she took the summer off after graduating, you don’t hear about many people doing that.

It’s great she …
It’s great she still stays in contact with people who were in UWW PRSSA with her. I also like how she works for a non-profit. Always great to give something back to the community.
